Kyle Ortega-Gammil, a senior at Reno High in Nevada, won the boys invitational 1,600 meters in a meet-record 4:08.67 at the 47th Stanford Invitational at Cobb Track and Angell Field in Palo Alto, Calif. Ortega-Gammil eclipsed the 2019 mark of 4:13.49 achieved by current Stanford athlete Liam Anderson, a prep standout at Redwood Larkspur, and finished 26th in 2:02.96 in the invitational 800 meters.
